The Diary of a Blogger

"Tell meeee what’s really going on
Tammy’s back up in this thing I’m ready, what’s happening
Gon for surgery but now I’m back again
I’m bout my bloggin’ like a m*thf*cking scratch and win”
Hey everyone.. I know, I know I have been gone for a while but I am back (well just for today).  I have been in the hospital since Thursday for something that I thought was just a tooth ache, which ended up becoming something even worse... serious that has changed my life… forever
I don’t even know how to start this because this is a sensitive subject for me but since being in the hospital I have been diagnosed with like 256478 things from a stroke, heart attack, (TIA)-Transient ischemic attack to finally being diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy.
Bell’s palsy is a paralysis or weakness of the muscles on one side of your face. Damage to the facial nerve that controls muscles on one side of the face causes that side of your face to droop”.
With this disorder (that came out of nowhere)the left side of my face feels numb, my eye twitches alot (I have to wear an eye patch at night because I cannot close my left eye. Have a heart monitor on me 24/7, take a lot of meds, My speech is slurred, my ear (well left side) is very sensitive to noise and of course my face is distorted (see some pictures below).
One thing about me is that I am I like to keep things to myself so me being sick was something that I wasn’t going to share with the world because I didn’t want to scare anyone as well as admit that I was actually sick. I sometimes tend to joke about things just not to think about them/think positive instead of negative.  The very first night I checked into the hospital, of course I was scared but I was asking the nurses to take a picture of me so that I can blog about it...lol, typical Tammy.
It was just a regular day for me at work.. no problems, still blogging, tweeting & then 2pm hit and I felt something was wrong, my face started changing and I couldn't see as well, This is what Bell's Palsy does.. It can attack at anytime and no one knows why.
A lot of people have never heard of this condition and I feel today that I want to share this with everyone/educate to let them know that it is NOT life threatening but do understand that IT WILL COME BACK AGAIN.  For now I have to continue to take my meds as well as do therapy to get my face back together.  This process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months but I am a fighter and I will be back in no time but for now I NEED TO CALM DOWN, rest, relax so that I can hurry and make a speedy recovery for Fashion Week J
I just want to THANK everyone that has called me, sent me bbm’s, facebook messages, emails asking “where are my post?” and tweets.  I also cannot forget my FAMILY who was there with me the whole time, my best friend, friends, co-workers and more friends who came to visited and who made me feel better.
Before I go… take a look at some of the things that got me through this while I was in the hospital...
Tweets:
From some of the best ever... Thank you!
Wendy’s frosty:
This was the only thing I could taste, which made my day.
Pandora:
I listened to the “Floetry” station on Pandora and I was jamming. All day... all night while on my blackberry that I snuck in
Nurse Pam:
The best nurse ever... I wish I took a picture of her but I forgot. Nurse Pam was able to calm me down and be there for me even when I tried to escape... lol, yes I left my room & needed to walk around. Who knew that I wasn’t able to do that? To make a long story short Nurse Pam had her body guards look for me (while I was in the waiting room all the time trying to sneak some snacks).. *Shout-out to my roommate who didn’t snitch on me though... she had my back while I was walking around... J

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!

I've already shared my words of care and advice for relaxation. I wasn't expecting the shout out, but thanks. Normally I would say hurry ya ass up and get better, BUT, you need to take a year and a day. Great post, get well soon, and I'll be in touch.

I am so glad that you're doing better. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. It's good to know that this disorder is not life threatening. I wish you well. That's crazy how one day you're cool and the next day you end up in somebodies hospital bed with tubes & needles going in & out of your body. I hate hearing stuff like that. It freaks me out. But once again I am glad that you're doing ok. Stay beautiful & positive! Take care of yourself girly. And keep us posted on what's going on with you. Love ya'!
